In February of ’07 I was driving from my place of employment in Downers Grove back to my home in the Quad Cities. It was after 7pm and sleeting so the toll-ways were slick and very wet. As I drove with the traffic, a gentleman in a small sports car cut me off and then slammed on his brakes. I reacted and immediately slammed on my brakes and started to spin out of control. My car hit the cement median, air bags deployed, and my car was totaled.  I was not injured and the police arrived quickly.  I immediately looked for my insurance card and called the local number expecting it to roll over to the 800 claims service since it was much later in the evening. I was shocked to hear “Mann Insurance this is Jack Mann”. I said, “Jack I’ve just been in a terrible accident and my car is not drivable.” He said, “where are you?”  I told him what exit to take to meet me and the tow truck, he was there within minutes. He followed the tow truck to make sure my car was properly taken care of and then we went to a restaurant in Aurora, IL to fill out paperwork. There he calmed me down, ordered me some wine, himself a coke, then got out his laptop to get all of the facts so he could immediately input  my accident claim. I had already called my husband in the Quad Cities and he was on his way to Naperville to pick me up. As we were sitting there waiting on appetizers, my husband called and said “you are not going to believe this but a rim from a truck came rolling down the dark highway and lodged under my car!!!”  I of course thought this had to be a joke! How could we both have an accident in the same night?  He was now stranded since his car was also totaled as a result of the accident.  He was now waiting at a truck stop on I-80 in LaSalle/Peru.  At that point Jack Mann was trying to figure out how to get me to my husband was at which was about 1 hour and 10 minutes away. (75 miles) After a few failed attempts with Naperville Chauffering, American Taxi, and Naperville Taxi Jack said “why don’t I just drive you?”  I said “that is too far and your family is waiting for you at home.”  He said “what else can you do in this situation?  I want to make sure you and your husband get home safe.”  So at that point I called my parents who were going to drive to LaSalle-Peru where my husband was stranded and Jack Mann was going to drive me there as well so we could ride back with my parents to the Quad Cities.  Never in my life have I witnessed such excellent customer service and someone so willing to help. Jack Mann did everything he could to ensure that we made it home safe and sound after such a terrible night.  I am forever grateful for the way he helped me during after the and afterwards making sure I had a rental car, etc.  I and my entire family thank Jack Mann for his kindness and his excellent customer service.  Kimberly Wenninger.
